Bankara Ramen @ Mid Valley Megamall

A bowl of hot ramen is always the best for an empty stomach. This was our second time here and if you haven’t been here yet, it is worth to try. We would not say this is the best ramen restaurant in town but it is definitely one of the better ones. Generally, all ramen restaurants have their own specialty and uniqueness.

Bankara Original

Bankara signature pork bone broth infused with specially refined shoyu is a thick, rich and sticky soup base but yet not too salty. The noodle texture was great and the chashu basically melt in your mouth. Adding the marinated soft boiled tamago is a must for any ramen. The soup is so tasty that you would not stop drinking it even after noticing a thick layer of oil on the surface.

Some sides for you to add in such as garlic, sesame and pickles.

We love to add more garlic into our ramen as it would actually make the soup taste nicer.

Tonkotsu

Tonkotsu is also made up of pork bone broth but it is milkier and has a richer soup flavor since it uses a slow boil technique. The soup will actually give you a smooth sensation the moment you drink it. Putting a spoon of spicy chili topping into the soup was a little too much. We will suggest putting the chili topping bit by bit based on your preference instead of the whole spoon. Well, a little bit of spiciness does bring some changes to your tongue and makes the soup flavorful. The noodle texture is good but personally we prefer the thick noodles over the thin noodles.
